AltMFA spoke at the ICA yesterday as part of their New Contemporaries Salon on alternative education. Gavin Wade from Eastside Projects in Birmingham was also there talking about ESP their membership club that helps emerging artists to develop their practices. AltMFA held a mini meeting in the salon, based on the usual format of our meeting. Lily was chairperson, Gwen took notes and Louise gave a short introduction to what we do. We had a tea party and brought props, and chairs from our houses along so we would feel more at home in the institution. The theme of the meeting was 'What is the shape of altmfa 2 years on?'. Members of the audience joined in the discussion and it was useful for planning our aims for 2013. Thanks Debbie Herring from the ICA for curating this event, it was really brilliant!
